This past year, as part of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program in the Humanities (IHUM), my colleagues and I organized a series of events at Princeton: pairing artists with faculty to experiment in the classroom. We called it New Schools. As teaching has become increasingly quantified and standardized, we wanted to go in the other direction, to focus on the aesthetics of pedagogy, to shake students and teachers alike out of the routines of the classroom.
This Thursday, May 5, at 2:30pm, we will convene a year-end workshop in which the participants will reflect on these collaborations. All are welcome to attend.
