In this project, I map out where exactly the poet-monks of the Tang and Five Dynasties lived (and at what time) by using a variety of geographical programs. I rely mainly on the reconstructed chronology of Tang literature edited by Fu Xuancong called Tang Wudai wenxue biannian shi 唐五代文學編年史. These maps are tools I use in the second chapter of my dissertation, which traces the evolution of the term “poet-monk” 詩僧 over the course of about 200 years.
